The Lagos State government has announced a work-from-home policy set to last for the next three months.
This initiative, detailed in a circular signed by the state Head of Service, Bode Agoro, was confirmed on Wednesday following directives from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The circular outlines that employees on grade levels 01 to 14 will be permitted to work remotely for two days a week, while those in higher positions, grade levels 15 to 17, will have the option to work from home for one day each week. This structured approach aims to ease the financial strain caused by the recent removal of fuel subsidies.
“The decision was aimed at reducing the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy on the workers,” the circular states, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of its workforce.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the positive impacts of this work-from-home policy, noting that it has already contributed to enhanced productivity among employees across various ministries, departments, and agencies of the state government.
The policy took effect on September 4, marking a proactive response to the economic challenges facing workers in the state.
