The storm of divine fury raged on, with Sango standing firm against the gods’ wrath. His thunderous power crackled with energy, protecting Oya from the bolts of divine lightning that struck the ground around them. But despite his bravery, Sango knew he could not hold out for much longer.
Just as the gods’ council was about to deliver the final blow, a figure appeared on the horizon. It was Olodumare, the supreme god and creator of the universe. With a wave of his hand, the storm subsided, and the gods’ council fell silent.
“Sango, my son,” Olodumare said, his voice like the gentle rustling of leaves. “Why do you defy the gods’ will?”
Sango stood tall, his heart still thundering with defiance. “I will not abandon Oya, father,” he said. “For she is my heart, my soul, my everything.”
Olodumare nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. “I see,” he said. “Then I shall give you a choice, Sango. You may remain a god, and abandon Oya to her mortal fate. Or you may become mortal yourself, and spend the rest of your days with her.”
Sango’s heart skipped a beat. He had never thought that his love for Oya would come at such a cost. But he knew what he had to do.
“I choose to become mortal,” he said, his voice firm.
And with that, Sango’s divine form began to fade away, replaced by a mortal body, strong and vulnerable at the same time. Oya rushed to his side, tears of joy streaming down her face.
“I will love you forever, Sango,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Sango smiled, his heart full of joy. “And I will love you, Oya, until the end of time.”
