Hon. Muritala Olakunle AbdulSalam, the S. A Media, Publicity and Communications to the Lagos State House Assembly Member, representing Mushin Constituency II Hon. Olayinka, has been elected as the new president of the Mushin Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Agenda (MOA), following a fresh election to appoint new leadership for the next two years, as stipulated by the constitution of the group.
The election, held on Sunday, June 23, 2023, marked the end of the tenure of the previous executive members, led by outgoing President Mr. Akinsete Diipo, whose term concluded on June 12, 2024.
Comrade Adeleye Olusoji, the Chairman of the transition and election committee, oversaw the election process under the supervision of BOT Chairman Hon. Noah Osifeso.
The election was conducted in an atmosphere of harmony, with results announced promptly after the collation. Comrade Adesoji expressed his satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the election, noting that members voted without fear or favor.
The newly elected executive members are:
- President-Elect: Comrade Muritala Olakunle AbdulSalam
- Vice President-Elect: Olayinka Binturosula
- Secretary-Elect: Akeem Jimmy Ajiboye
- Treasurer-Elect: Jimba Ganiyu A.
Elections for other positions, including PRO, Welfare Officer, and Assistant Secretary, will be held according to the scheduled election timetable.
In his victory speech, President-elect Comrade Muritala Olakunle AbdulSalam expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members of MOA.
“I am overwhelmed with gratitude and humbled by the trust you have placed in me by voting for me as your PRESIDENT,” he stated. He pledged to work tirelessly to enhance the organisation and ensure it serves the community effectively.
“I promise to work tirelessly to make our organisation, MOA, a better place for everyone. Your vote is a reminder that our collective efforts can achieve great things. I am committed to listening to your concerns, ideas, and feedback to ensure that our organisation, MOA, thrives,” AbdulSalam added.
