In the wake of a fire that engulfed the Christ Embassy headquarters in Oregun, Ikeja, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, President and Founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, addressed his congregation with a message of resilience and hope. Speaking during a live Sunday service at the church’s campground in Asese, Pastor Chris reassured his followers that the incident was not a setback but an opportunity for greater achievements.
Videos of the fire, which spread rapidly on social media on Sunday morning, showed significant damage to the church building. However, Pastor Chris’s response was one of unwavering faith and determination.
“Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident,” he proclaimed, recalling a similar situation during the 2001 Ikeja cantonment bombing incident.
“During the 2001 incident, the building vibrated so much we thought it would collapse. I told myself if it did, we would build a bigger, better one. In the end, it didn’t collapse, and engineers confirmed it was structurally sound. Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one, and the devil will lick his wounds,” Pastor Chris declared.

The fire, which broke out early Sunday, was quickly addressed by the Lagos Fire Service. Firefighters were on the scene to control and extinguish the blaze, and no casualties were reported. The rapid response of the fire service was crucial in preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of those in the vicinity.
Pastor Chris’s message highlighted the church’s resilience and commitment to moving forward stronger than before. His words were a source of comfort and inspiration to the congregation, emphasizing that challenges are opportunities for growth and improvement.
As the church community begins the process of rebuilding, Pastor Chris’s leadership and vision continue to inspire. The promise to erect a new, more magnificent structure stands as a testament to the faith and determination that define Christ Embassy.
