Wafa League highest goal scorer, Aishat Bolarinwa, along with 34 other talented players, has received a call-up to join the Nigeria U17 national team camp in Abuja.
This preparatory camp is in anticipation of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in the Dominican Republic, as reported by NigeriaSoccerNet.com.
Aishat Bolarinwa, a standout player for the Ghetto Tigers Ladies, had an exceptional 2023/2024 Wafa League season. She dominated the league by netting eight goals and providing four assists in just 11 matches, securing her position as the highest goal scorer.
Her commendable performance has not only made her a focal point of her team but has also caught the attention of national selectors.
Bolarinwa’s prowess on the field is characterized by her goal-scoring efficiency and mesmerizing footwork, attributes that are highly valued in modern-day attacking players.
Despite her young age, she exudes remarkable confidence with the ball and demonstrates versatility by effectively playing as a top striker or through the flanks.
The upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup marks the eighth edition of the tournament and will be hosted by the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3. The Nigerian team, under the guidance of coach Bankole Olowookere, aims to build on their impressive performance from the last World Cup held in India in 2022, where they secured a commendable third-place finish.
