In a bid to advance women’s political participation and representation, Senator Idiat Adebule, representing Lagos West Senatorial District, has launched a transformative three-day outreach programme to empower women across the district.
In a heartfelt message shared via her Facebook page, Senator Adebule emphasized the importance of women’s involvement in politics, stating:
“Today, we kicked off our 3-day Lagos West Senatorial District’s ‘constituency outreach for women’ with the theme ‘Advance Women’s Political Participation and Representation.'”
The inaugural day of this groundbreaking initiative was dedicated to women from the Badagry division and took place at the Student’s Arcade, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo Campus. Senator Adebule, addressing the enthusiastic participants, shared her legislative plans aimed at boosting women’s roles in political spheres.
She passionately encouraged women to be “courageous in seeking political leadership at all levels so that women can be part of decisions that affect their lives.”
This outreach not only aims to inspire but also to provide practical strategies for women to engage and assert their presence in political arenas.
The programme continues to gain momentum as it moves into its second day, targeting women from the Alimosho/Oshodi-Isolo axis of the Ikeja Division. The final day will see the culmination of this empowering series with women from the Agege/Ifako-Ijaiye/Ikeja/Mushin area of the Ikeja Division taking center stage.
Senator Adebule’s initiative is a significant step towards achieving gender equality in political representation and serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for women across the nation.
