The Chairman of the Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon Rasaq Ajala (HRA), was presented with a meaningful birthday gift earlier today by members of the Community Development Council (CDC) and Community Development Associations (CDA).
The delegation, led by CDC Chairman Otunba Adebayo Adekunle, visited HRA’s office to convey their best wishes and gratitude.
Reflecting on the significance of the gift, HRA expressed, “This gift is a challenge to me that we must continue to work assiduously towards bettering the life of our people.”
He emphasized the importance of inclusive governance, stating that the administration must leave a tangible impact in the local council development areas, particularly in the realm of infrastructure development that will stimulate the local economy.
The council boss passionately articulated his vision for the future, highlighting the imperative to provide quality and functional primary education while also ensuring that secondary education is not overlooked.
“The one that will give the opportunity to the children of nobody to become somebody,” he declared, underscoring his commitment to empowering the youth of the community.
The chairman acknowledged the gesture from the CDC and CDA as a testament to their appreciation of his administration’s efforts thus far.
“They have made a statement with this gift that indeed they appreciate our efforts so far, but to us, we know Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA is a work in progress and we have not gotten where we should be,” he admitted.
With a promise of continued dedication, Ajala assured his constituents, “With their support, I gave them the assurance that we will continue to do the needful and the rightful to ensure we further raise the bar of governance to the delight and admiration of the entire residents of the LCDA.” He expressed a heartfelt desire that when the history of the local government is written, it would not be represented in gold but in diamonds.
“This is not only about me but about all of us that contributed one way or the other to its development—the Executive, Legislative Arm of Government, the Management team, and the party that gave us the mandate we are exercising,” he concluded.
