In a decisive move to enhance security and bolster the operational efficiency of its Rapid Response Squad (RRS), the Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), has introduced six state-of-the-art GAC saloon cars into the RRS fleet. The handover ceremony took place this afternoon, marking a significant step in the state’s ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of its residents.
The vehicles were formally presented to Commander of the RRS, CSP Shola Jejeloye, by representatives of the Fund’s Executive Secretary, Mr. Degbola Lewis. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to equipping its security operatives with modern tools necessary for effective policing and rapid response to emergencies.
CSP Shola Jejeloye, while receiving the new fleet, expressed his gratitude and emphasized the positive impact these vehicles will have on the squad’s operational capabilities. He assured that the cars will be utilized efficiently to enhance patrols, quicken response times, and provide a more robust presence in crime-prone areas.
“The addition of these GAC saloon cars will significantly strengthen our patrol operations,” CSP Jejeloye stated. “We are committed to using these vehicles to their fullest potential in our ongoing fight against crime. The residents of Lagos can expect to see a more proactive and visible RRS presence on the streets.”
The LSSTF, which has been instrumental in supporting the state’s security framework, continues to play a pivotal role in driving initiatives aimed at improving security infrastructure. By providing these vehicles, the Fund has demonstrated its unwavering support for the RRS and its mission to maintain law and order across Lagos State.
As the new GAC saloon cars join the RRS fleet, Lagosians can look forward to an enhanced security presence and a more efficient response to criminal activities, further solidifying the state government’s dedication to creating a safer environment for all.
