In a remarkable display of cooperation and efficiency, joint troops from the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services (DSS) have successfully thwarted a planned attack by Boko Haram insurgents on the city of Kano.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of Friday, November 3, 2023, in the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, was a significant achievement in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
The joint operation was meticulously planned and executed by the 3 Brigade Nigerian Army in close collaboration with the DSS, aimed at uncovering and apprehending suspected Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) who were believed to be plotting a major offensive in Kano State.

In the process, they also seized a substantial cache of weapons and explosives, including five AK-47 rifles, five AK-47 rifle magazines, one Rocket Propelled Gun (RPG), five RPG bombs, six hand grenades, five pairs of desert camouflage uniforms, 10 pairs of magazine pouches, and various materials used in making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
