The Y2023 annual transition examination for primary six (6) pupils from both public and private schools was closely monitored by the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB).
Mr. Hakeem Lamidi, the Board Secretary of LASUBEB, expressed his satisfaction with the overall conduct of the examination during the monitoring process.
This crucial examination was simultaneously conducted in 405 different centers across the state.
While observing several centers in the Surulere Local Government Education Area (LGEA), Mr. Lamidi emphasised the state’s unwavering commitment to providing quality Basic Education to every child.
He highlighted that “regardless of their background or status, every child in the transition class of primary schools is eligible to take part in the examination.”
To ensure inclusivity, Mr. Lamidi also mentioned that “special provisions were made for students with visual impairment. Questions were adapted into Braille versions to accommodate visually challenged applicants.”
Support was also offered to other physically challenged pupils, aiming to cater to the diverse needs of all learners.
The LASUBEB Board Secretary praised the state examination board for its effective strategies in ensuring a seamless and conducive environment for the pupils to focus on their tests.
Several centers were meticulously monitored, including Immaculate Heart Comprehensive Junior High School in Kosofe, New Era Junior and Senior Secondary School in Surulere, Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children, Lagos Progressive Junior Secondary School, and Alapere Comprehensive Junior and Senior High School.
Other board members and officers also took part in monitoring the examination process across all 20 Local Government Education Areas (LGEAs).
