On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu visited Ogun on a personal visit to meet with the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, as well as the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
Arriving at the Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu Ode at precisely 10:17 am, Tinubu landed in the Nigeria Air Force’s presidential helicopter, with the registration 5N FG2.
The state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, along with his deputy, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aremo Olusegun Osoba, warmly welcomed Tinubu upon his arrival.
Also accompanying him were his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, and the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication and Strategies, Dele Alake.
Afterward, the President proceeded to the private residence of Oba Adetona, situated within the Government Reservation Area in Ijebu Ode, where he had a confidential meeting with the esteemed traditional ruler.
Tinubu held another meeting with the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, at his palace in Abeokuta.
Speaking about the president’s visit, the state Governor, Dapo Abiodun wrote: “We gladly received our leader and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu – GCFR, who paid a special appreciation visit to the Paramount Ruler and Awujale of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, Oba. (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona – CFR in his Palace.”
“Being the President’s first official visit to any state upon assumption of office, we expressed our gratitude to our dear leader for such an iconic and historic honour.”
