For the tenth consecutive year, the University of Ilorin has once again secured the top spot on the list of the most preferred universities in the country for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
During the 2023 policy meeting held on Saturday, Professor Is’haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), presented the rankings.
These rankings were based on the universities’ ability to attract a high number of applicants during the 2023 UTME application period.
Leading the list was the University of Ilorin, followed by the University of Lagos in second place, the Lagos State University in third place, and the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, in fourth place.
Rounding out the top ten were the University of Benin in fifth place, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in sixth place, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in seventh place, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in eighth place, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna in ninth place, and the University of Ibadan in tenth place.
