The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA has recovered a 20ft container that fell on a Toyota Camry.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday May 15, 2023.
According to the statement, the agency activated its emergency response plan by deploying its state-of-the-art sophisticated heavy-duty equipment, crane to Cement Bus-stop, inward Iyana-Ipaja to recover the affected vehicles off the road.
The accident had already caused serious traffic gridlock on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
“Consequent upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that an IVECO truck laden with 20ft container with unknown registration number and a Toyota Camry with registration number JJJ 633 HX were involved in an accident at the above-mentioned location,” the agency reported in a statement.
Further investigation gathered at the scene revealed that the truck, while it was stationed on the road side fell on a car that was parked by the road side.
“Fortunately, there was no loss of life or injury recorded.”
The container, the truck and the Toyota Camry had been cleared off the road with the aid of the Agency’s heavy duty equipment (crane) to a layby and handed over to the police officers at the scene from Alabo Police Station Dopemu, Agege.
