The National Project Coordinator (NPC), Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) Project, Dr. Kabir Yusuf, has commended the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, over the approval of the counterpart fund for the implementation of SAPZ Project in the state.
In a letter of appreciation dated 19th April, 2023, Yusuf stated that the express approval of the payment of the year 2023 counterpart fund for the implementation of the project is a giant stride towards achieving the Project Development Objective (PDO) of the SAPZ programme in the state.
Recall that the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) on the 27th and 28th of March, 2023, was on her First Supervision Mission to Kwara in respect of the commencement of the project in the state.
The project, which will be fully funded by the Islamic Development Bank and the State, is projected to boost agricultural production and economic prosperity in Kwara.
“We consider this as a great manifestation of your visionary and purposeful leadership with a unique sense of duty and responsibility in the course of governance,” Yusf said.
He then assured the governor of the continuous engagement and technical support of the National Office to the SAPZ Project Implementation Unit (PIU) in Kwara to effectively deliver the promise and prosperity of the project to the people of the state.
In a separate statement, the State Project Coordinator, Kwara SAPZ Project, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, applauded the state governor for showing a lofty sense of commitment to the commencement of the project, saying that the governor’s kind disposition to the project over the years is remarkable and promising.
Busari added that such gesture “is a great testimony of His Excellency’s belief in the agricultural ecosystem as a driver of economic growth, social and financial inclusion.”
He explained that the SAPZ Project is another stronghold by Governor AbdulRazaq for agricultural bouyancy and wealth creation formula for the people of the state.
