The Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, has led non-political group to sensitize residents of Agege area of Lagos to political violence.
The group which is known as Agege Molebi United Forum stated that the campaign was aimed at urging people in Agege to shun violence during the general elections.
According to CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, the group consists of notable personalities within Agege both home and abroad.
He further said that the interest of the group is towards changing the narrative about Agege.
Egbeyemi disclosed that amongst the group were public officer holders, lawyers, doctors, police officers, entrepreneurs, media practitioners amongst others.
He reiterated that the forthcoming elections should not be a do-or-die exercise that voting rules and regulations should be adhered to.
Egebeyemi warned that any one planning to disrupt the electoral process in any form should desist from it as the law enforcement agencies will be fully out to punish offenders.
Amongst other stakeholders who added their voices during the sensitization were Seriki Hausawa of Alimoso, Comrades, law enforcement agents amongst others.
Educational flyers were shared amongst the residents.
