The woman leader of the Owutu Branch of Nasrul-lahi-li Fathi Society (NASFAT), Alhaja Modinat Ishola, has distributed hijabs and caps to youngsters at the branch.
The distribution was done during the religious service on Sunday February 12, 2023.
According to the woman leader, the gesture was initiated in commemoration of this year’s World Hijab Day celebration.
While speaking to The Naija News, Mrs Ishola stated that the use of hijab is a religious obligation. She stressed that every woman faithful to Islam should cover their head.
“A devout Muslim woman should always wear a hijab in order not to show off her beauty,” she said.
The woman leader maintained that Allah values a woman who promotes sartorial modesty all the time, stressing that the “Hijab acts as the Almighty’s shield from all the sinful gazes.”
Corroborating the assertion of the woman leader, the branch Missioner, Imam Abdul Hakeem khidir, stated that the annual World Hijab Day is celebrated by the woman’s wing to sensitize the girls and women to the importance of hijab.

According to Imam Oladele, the hijab is an act of obedience to Allah and to His prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
He made a Qu’ranic allusion to buttress his point.
“It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His messenger have decreed a matter that they should have an option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), has indeed strayed in a plain error,” he quoted Qu’ran 33:36.
He added that the Hijab is modesty, quoting that Allah made the adherence to the hijab a manifestation of chastity and modesty.
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) over their bodies (when outdoors). That is most convenient that they should be known and not molested,” Quran 33:59.
“The hijab is purity [because] Allah has shown us the hikmah (wisdom) behind the legislation of the hijab,” Oladele said.
“And when you ask them (the Prophet’s wives) for anything you want, ask them from behind a screen, that is purer for your hearts and their hearts,” Quran 33:53.
He continued that the hijab is a shield and a way to promote righteousness.
“The widespread forms of dresses in the world today are mostly to show off and hardly taken as a cover and shield of the woman’s body.
“To the believing women, however, the purpose is to safeguard their bodies and cover their private parts as a manifestation of the order of Allah. It is an act of righteousness,” he said.
He further stated that the hijab depicts belief or faith.
“Allah did not address His words about the hijab except to the believing women, Al-Mo’minat.
In many cases in the Quran, Allah refers to the “believing women”.
“Aisha, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), addressed some women from the tribe of Banu Tamim who came to visit her and had light clothes on them. Because they were improperly dressed, she said if indeed they were believing women, then their dressing doesn’t depict the believing women,” he concluded.
Also speaking, the Lagos Zonal 1 Noiba Amira (Deputy Female Youth Leader), Mrs Balikis Alao, appreciated the woman leader.
She stated that the gesture would go a long way to encourage the use of hijabs among youngsters.
“May Allah continue to bless our mother, matron and mentor Alhaja Ishola, for the gift of hijabs and caps given to all the youngsters. May Allah in His infinite generosity elongate her lifespan upon goodness happiness and righteousness,” she prayed.
The highlight of the programme was the distribution of hijabs and caps to youngsters.
