Lagos State has emerged as the South West runner-up in the prestigious Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge organized by the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).
The state was awarded a $400,000 prize for its exemplary performance, showcasing the region’s commitment to enhancing primary healthcare services.
The announcement was made with pride by the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, who expressed immense gratitude for the tireless efforts of the team driving the state healthcare reforms.
The Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge is a key initiative under the NGF aimed at revitalizing the Primary Health Care Under One Roof (PHCUOR) policy.
This flagship program seeks to encourage state governors to prioritize increased funding for primary healthcare services while ensuring that healthcare centers across Nigeria are adequately staffed and equipped to meet the needs of citizens.
