In a bid to enhance internal security and promote professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has ordered the immediate deployment of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to key positions across the country.
The posting involves:
- AIG Suleiman M. Yusuf as AIG Zone 9, Umuahia
- AIG Ahmed Ammani as AIG Zone 1, Kano
- AIG Zachariah Fera as AIG Zone 4, Makurdi
- AIG Augustina N. Ogbodo as AIG FCID Annex, Lagos
Reorganization After Recent Changes
The reassignment follows the retirement of several senior officers and the recent promotion of DIG Ari Muhammed Ali, formerly AIG Zone 1, to Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), Department of Operations at Force Headquarters, Abuja.

IGP Egbetokun urged the newly appointed AIGs to maintain strict supervision and ensure diligence in their duties. He emphasized the importance of curbing misconduct, promoting ethical practices, and aligning with ongoing police reform initiatives.
