Fountain University has been awarded the Osun State Merit Award.
The recognition, conferred by the Osun State Government, celebrates the university’s outstanding contributions to the state’s progress, particularly in the realms of education, research, and community service.
According to an official letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim, the award highlights the institution’s role in advancing knowledge and fostering a collaborative spirit within the state.
Signed by Hon Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the State Government of Osun and Chairman of the Second Anniversary Committee of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, the letter commended Fountain University’s significant achievements and unwavering commitment to positive societal impact.
“Fountain University’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration has enhanced academic excellence and positively impacted the State,” the letter stated.
“The University’s initiatives in research and partnerships with industry have driven advancements that address national challenges, enriching both student learning and societal wellbeing.”
The formal award ceremony is set to take place on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Adolak Event Centre, located on the Gbongan/Ibadan Expressway in Osogbo, Osun State.
Reacting to this honor, Prof. Karim expressed her gratitude and humility. “We are deeply humbled and grateful to receive this prestigious award,” she remarked.
