The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially presented certificates of return to Ondo State Governor-elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and his deputy during a ceremony held at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
Aiyedatiwa, who ran for governor under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious in the state’s gubernatorial election with a total of 366,781 votes, defeating his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 117,845 votes.
The certificates were handed to Aiyedatiwa and his deputy by Prof. Kunle Ajayi, the National Commissioner overseeing Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa assumed the role of Governor of Ondo State following the unfortunate death of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in December 2023.
