The Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Engr. Ibrahim Adigun, captivated the audience at the #YouthEmpowered program organized by MindTheGap, a prominent community and youth development foundation.
The event took place at The Stable, Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos, drawing a diverse group of enthusiastic young participants from across the state.
Joining Engr. Ibrahim was the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, represented by the Director of Social Development, along with other distinguished guests who lent their support to the initiative.
During his keynote address, Adigun emphasized the critical importance of self-evaluation, adaptability, resilience, customer service, project management, financial literacy, and sales & negotiation skills for today’s youth.
He passionately urged the participants, saying, “You are the leaders of tomorrow, and the skills you acquire today will shape your future.”
He further commended the efforts of MindTheGap and their sponsor, Nigeria Bottling Company (NBC), for their unwavering commitment to youth development in Lagos.
“The state chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria under my leadership remains committed to partnerships that will boost youth human capital development,” he stated, reinforcing the idea that collaboration is key to empowering the next generation.
The event also featured an exciting business plan contest, where two outstanding participants were awarded N100,000 each to recognize their entrepreneurial spirit and innovative ideas.
Other participants left with generous consolation prizes, ensuring that everyone felt valued and motivated to pursue their aspirations.
