The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into serious bribery allegations raised by Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.
This comes in response to a viral video that has captured the attention of the nation, where Okuneye claims that certain EFCC officers accepted a staggering N15,000,000 (Fifteen Million Naira) to dismiss money laundering charges against him.
In the video, which was brought to light by Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, Okuneye, a former convict, asserts, “Some unnamed officers of the EFCC collected the sum of N15,000,000 from me to drop money laundering charges against me.”
Reacting swiftly to these explosive claims, Olukoyede has assembled a dedicated team of investigators tasked with delving into the allegations.
The EFCC has officially invited both Okuneye and Otse to present themselves at its Lagos Directorate, urging their cooperation to aid in uncovering the truth behind the alleged bribery.
The EFCC has emphasized its commitment to ensuring a thorough investigation, stating, “The Commission wishes to assure the public that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated and the result of the findings made public accordingly.”
The agency further reiterated its dedication to uphold its core values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and collaboration at all times.
