The Chairman of Odi-Olowo, Hon Rasaq Ajala (HRA), has announced that not less than 250 students across the LCDA will be trained in various tech skills in the third cohort of his Free ICT training programme.
HRA disclosed this in a statement released via his Facebook page on Tuesday, stating, “We are excited to announce the launch of our Free 2-week summer tech boot camp, hosting 250 pupils and students across our Ilupeju and Damengoro ICT Workstations. This initiative aims to introduce participants to the world of computers, equipping them with fundamental skills and hands-on experience in using various digital packages.”
According to the council boss, the summer tech boot camp is designed to enhance digital literacy, boost confidence, and prepare students for the upcoming 2024/25 academic session. Participants will gain essential skills and practical experience that are crucial in today’s digital age.
Simultaneously, the third cohort of the 3-month Free ICT Training Program is nearing completion with outstanding achievements.
HRA highlighted the success of the participants, saying, “Desktop Publishing students have acquired a solid foundation in General Computing, including system troubleshooting and practical training in Use of Packages. They are now exploring CorelDraw, unlocking their creative potential and design skills.”
In the Graphics & Animations sector, students have mastered tools such as CorelDraw, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. They are advancing to Premiere Pro for video editing, with After Effects to follow, further enhancing their skills in motion graphics and visual effects.
Full Stack students have also made significant progress, completing comprehensive front-end training and moving on to back-end development with Python & Django lectures. Their dedication and commitment to learning are commendable.
He emphasized the importance of ICT skills in today’s world, noting, “In today’s digital era, ICT skills are essential for success in various aspects of life, including education, career, and personal development. Our initiative prepares students to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world, enabling them to reach their full potential and contribute to the growth of a digitally literate society.”
