In a vibrant display of youthful innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, the Kidpreneur Conference hosted by Kidpreneur Africa captivated attendees at the Art Station Atlanta in Georgia.
The event, held on April 20th, 2024, brought together budding kidpreneurs, supportive parents, distinguished speakers, and partners from across the United States.
Under the theme “Unleashing the Potentials of the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs and Leaders,” the conference celebrated the creativity and vision of young CEOs.
Organized in collaboration with The Village Centre for Character and Culture Inc., the conference served as a dynamic platform for aspiring kidpreneurs to showcase their talents and ideas.
Throughout the day, attendees participated in engaging panel discussions and witnessed the recognition of outstanding young achievers.
The conference agenda featured thought-provoking panel discussions aimed at exploring the transformative potential of young entrepreneurs and the role of communities in nurturing their development.
The first panel, “Harnessing the Potential of Next Generation Entrepreneurs and Leaders for Africa/America,” was led by prominent figures such as Nancy Davordzi, Founder of African Union Atlanta, Elena Elle Brown, Certified Health Coach, Juliet Obi, Founder of Kidpreneur Africa, and James Wilson Jr, CEO of Mama Ruby’s Bookshelf.
Moderated by Malaja Bailey, Founder/CEO of The Village Culture and Character Inc., this session delved into strategies for empowering youth to lead in business and society.
The second panel, “The Role of Communities in Impacting and Investing in the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs and Leaders in Africa and America,” brought together entrepreneurs including Malaja Bailey, Juliet Obi, Walter Thirmond III (Founder of United for Change), Alfred Okoro (Founder of iSabi TV), and Nancy Taiye Aragbaye (Global Impact Strategist). Moderated by Nimi Bello, Founder of Link Empower, this discussion emphasised the importance of community support in fostering young talent and nurturing future leaders.
Mrs Juliet Vincent-Obi, the visionary Founder of Kidpreneur Africa, opened the event with a compelling address. She emphasised the importance of empowering young minds for future success.
“Our young, talented entrepreneurs, parents, speakers, and partners from across the country. It is great to see young people like you all taking the future into your own hands, with the fresh perspectives and fearlessness the world needs now,” Mrs Obi expressed.
She added, ”If today’s youth are uniquely equipped with a “DNA” for success, what must educators, policymakers, government and investors do to support this movement towards youth entrepreneurship? School and college curriculums should include opportunities to develop business, technical and life skills.
“There needs to be greater collaboration between educators and the business sector. Leadership positions for young people should be encouraged for their voice is needed for building a sustainable future.”
The keynote speaker, Super Bowl Champion Walter Thurmond III, appreciated Juliet Vincent-Obi for the invitation.
He said, “We have to be selfless and be understanding of the individuals that we’re coming in contact with. Again, I thank you, Juliet, for the opportunity to be able to speak.
“And for the young entrepreneurs, just follow your passion, but most importantly, have a plan. Everyone has an ideal of what success is. It could be monetary; it could be support your family; it could be creating world level change. Whatever that success is to, to you as individuals. It comes down to this. You have to be prepared for whatever it is that you’re looking to do. Then with that will come opportunity. Some people have, some people have a lot of opportunity and some people have no opportunity or a little opportunity. There’s always an opportunity if you, if you’re willing to see it. But most importantly.”
At the event were special awards presented to exceptional young CEOs. Lena D Ford, CEO of Positively Lena (Atlanta), Mishael Fontenelle, Founder of Little Legacy Heroes (Atlanta), Nicholas Buamah, Founder of Books Without Borders (Atlanta), and Gabrielle O Starkes, CEO of Go Bubbles (Florida), were among the talented individuals recognized for their achievements and contributions to entrepreneurship.
Also speaking about the conference, Malaja Bailey, Founder of The Village Centre for Culture and Character Inc., said, “We are the Dreamers.
