One of the flagship initiatives, the Ounje Eko Sunday market, has emerged as a resounding success over the past six weeks. Governor Sanwo-Olu reported that the market, which offers food items at a 25% discount, has significantly contributed to ensuring essential supplies are accessible to citizens at subsidized rates.
To spearhead and steer these multifaceted interventions, a non-partisan Special Dispensation Advisory Council has been established. Comprising eminent Nigerians from diverse backgrounds, including rights activists, religious leaders, a youth representative, and opposition party chieftains, this council reflects a collaborative approach to addressing societal needs.
In a recent development aimed at bolstering food security and addressing hunger, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced the distribution of 500,000 boxes of food items to Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state.
