In a dramatic crackdown on counterfeit cosmetics, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered an illicit production scheme operating in Lagos State. The agency’s Investigation & Enforcement Directorate exposed a clandestine manufacturing operation run by Mr. Pius Effiong Eyoh, owner of Pasco Global Limited, located at the Balogun Trade Fair Gate, Trade Fair Complex.
Eyoh stands accused of a litany of offenses, including the manufacture, packaging, distribution, and sale of a variety of substandard and counterfeit cosmetic products.
Among the seized items were Skin Balance Perfect Knuckle Organic Peel Therapy, Golden Face Triple Action Concentrated Perfect Skin, and Skin Free Cream, all bearing fraudulent labels with French inscriptions and a fictitious Cameroonian address.
The NAFDAC intervention culminated in the immediate closure of the illegal production site, the arrest of Eyoh, and the confiscation of his illicit inventory. Furthermore, NAFDAC has slated Eyoh’s counterfeit products for immediate destruction, ensuring they never reach unsuspecting consumers again.
This groundbreaking operation underscores NAFDAC’s commitment to safeguarding public health and rooting out unscrupulous actors in the cosmetics industry.
