The executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ganduje Ward and Dawakin Tofa Local Government convened a joint press conference today in Kano to address what they termed a “purported suspension” of the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Koko, Chairman of the Ganduje Ward, vehemently refuted the legitimacy of the suspension, attributing it to individuals allegedly sponsored by the NNPP state government. Koko emphasized that these individuals were not registered APC members at any level of the party hierarchy.
“The purported suspension was null and void,” stated Koko firmly, “and will have no effect on the status of our esteemed National Chairman.”
Moreover, Koko announced that the identified individuals responsible for the alleged suspension would face legal consequences for impersonation and deliberately tarnishing the reputation of both the party and its National Chairman.
“We are prepared to take them to court,” Koko declared, highlighting the seriousness with which the party viewed such attempts to disrupt its internal affairs.
Addressing party members directly, Koko urged them to disregard the suspension announcement and maintain calm amid the unfolding situation.
This development underscores the internal challenges faced by political parties as Nigeria approaches its next general election cycle. The APC, a major player in the country’s political landscape, is determined to address and swiftly counter any attempts to sow discord within its ranks.
