The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NASFAT (Owutu Branch), convened its much-anticipated annual pre-Ramadan lecture on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
The NASFAT members gathered for a transformative experience under the theme, “Despair not of the mercy of Allah (Q39: 60).”
Distinguished Islamic scholar, Fadhilat Sheikh Abubakar Olayinka, took the stage as the esteemed lecturer, delivering a profound discourse on the subject, “Dealing with a Difficult Time: An Islamic Perspective.”
Hosted by Alhaji Moshood Ojuolape and Alhaja Modinat Ishola, the programme aimed to guide members through the intricate aspects of Ramadan and the spiritual responsibilities expected from devout Muslims.
During his sermon, Sheikh Abubakar sensitized the audience to the essence of Ramadan, emphasizing the spiritual activities integral to a Muslim’s journey.
In addressing the chosen theme, he passionately urged the gathering to maintain unwavering faith in Allah, particularly during challenging times.
“Ramadan is an opportunity for us Muslims to beseech Allah’s intervention. It’s a time when divine blessings cascade upon humanity. In moments of adversity, we must steadfastly adhere to the righteous path, drawing nearer to Allah and seeking His guidance,” stated Sheikh Abubakar.
Acknowledging the prevailing economic hardships, the Islamic scholar encouraged the faithful to utilize Ramadan as a platform to present their challenges to Allah.
“Allah is aware of our struggles. Through prayer and dedicated spiritual endeavors, we can overcome our difficulties. Let us pray and seek His intervention,” he added, instilling hope and resilience among the congregation.
Assuring the attendees, Sheikh Abubakar emphasized that with sincere prayers and rigorous spiritual activities, the challenges faced by the community would eventually become a distant memory.
