The 3rd Edition of the Seyi Tinubu Table Tennis Challenge, held at the Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA Council Hall, has been praised by the Lagos Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Engr. Ibrahim Adigun, for its impactful role in inspiring and empowering Nigerian youth.
With over ₦1 million cash prize for the winners, the event attracted wide participation and showcased its importance as a platform for nurturing young talent and fostering unity through sports.
Engr. Adigun, who attended the event, emphasized its significance in promoting sportsmanship and youth development.
“Earlier today, I graced the 3rd Edition of the Seyi Tinubu Table Tennis Challenge, which was held at the Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA council hall. The event, which witnessed the splashing of about ₦1 million prizes, was a remarkable one towards the preservation of sportsmanship,” he remarked.
He also expressed gratitude to Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigeria’s president, for spearheading such an initiative that aligns with efforts to engage and inspire the youth.
“I appreciate everyone behind the success of this event, most importantly the son of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Seyi Tinubu,” Adigun added.
The challenge, now in its third year, has become a vital annual event aimed at encouraging youth participation in sports, providing opportunities for talent discovery, and promoting community cohesion. Both participants and spectators commended the initiative, lauding the organizers for the impressive cash prizes and flawless execution.
The event was also attended by notable dignitaries, including Ambassador Saheed Tijani, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Wealth Creation and Employment; Hon. Akanbi Ade Afonja, a former SSA to the Governor on Youth Affairs; and Ambassador Olayinka Oreshile, the Emeritus Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter.
