The Yobe State Government, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni, has welcomed consultants from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) to finalize plans for transformative projects across the state.
These initiatives include the drilling of 200 hybrid solar-powered boreholes, the installation of solar energy systems in schools, markets, and hospitals, and support for 20,000 smallholder farmers in Yobe State.
The consultants, received by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alh. Baba Mallam Wali, will conduct feasibility studies and develop technical designs to ensure the successful implementation of these projects.
Emphasizing the governor’s priorities, SSG Baba Mallam Wali stated that the initiative focuses on infrastructure, agriculture, and energy to improve living standards and foster economic growth in the state.
The projects will encompass small-scale irrigation schemes, the rehabilitation of rural and urban roads, and solar energy installations in healthcare centres and modern markets.
The consultants assured the government of their commitment to delivering these projects to the highest standards, positioning Yobe as a model of sustainable development.
