The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has announced a full scholarship for the sole survivor of a tragic fire outbreak that recently claimed the lives of an entire family in Ede, Osun State.

The announcement was made by NASFAT President, Alhaji AbdulWahid Ayodeji, during a Fidau prayer held on December 4, 2024, to honour the victims.

According to the viral video interview of the boy, the fire, caused by an electrical surge from the ceiling, resulted in the deaths of a father, mother, and three children, leaving behind a 13-year-old boy as the only survivor.

Speaking at the event, Ayodeji stated, “NASFAT would sponsor the education of the only surviving child of the affected family up to the university level.”

He described the initiative as a reflection of NASFAT commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society through education and empowerment.

The Fidau prayer, held in Ede, drew a large turnout of NASFAT members from across Osun and Oyo States, as well as representatives from the organization national headquarters.

Alhaji AbdulWahid Ayodeji expressed his gratitude to NASFAT members worldwide for their moral and financial support to the bereaved family.

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was also present, along with senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Service and other dignitaries.

Governor Adeleke lauded NASFAT for its consistent interventions in promoting peaceful coexistence and providing humanitarian aid.

“We appreciate NASFAT for its usual support and intervention. I encourage more collaborations to advance the state’s development,” the governor said.

The scholarship aligns with NASFAT mission to foster “spiritual upliftment and the welfare of mankind.” This initiative ensures the young survivor has access to quality education and a chance for a brighter future, despite the tragic loss of his family.
