A Glimmer of Hope_
The next day, the four friends were walking through the market, looking for any odd jobs they could do to earn some money. As they walked, they stumbled upon a small, rundown shop with a sign that read “Mama Ebun’s Kitchen.”
Mama Ebun, a kind-hearted woman in her late 50s, greeted them warmly and offered them some food. As they ate, she told them about her struggles to keep her business afloat.
“I used to have a big catering business, but after my husband passed away, I had to scale down,” she said, her eyes welling up with tears. “Now, I’m struggling to make ends meet.”
Lekan, Korede, Ayo, and Tunde listened intently, feeling a pang of sympathy for Mama Ebun. As they finished their meal and prepared to leave, Mama Ebun called them back.
“Wait, my boys,” she said, a sly grin spreading across her face. “I have an idea. I need some help with my business, and I’m willing to pay you for your services.”
The four friends exchanged excited glances. Could this be the opportunity they had been waiting for?
“What do you need us to do, Mama Ebun?” Lekan asked, his eyes shining with excitement.
Mama Ebun smiled, a twinkle in her eye. “I need you to help me prepare for the Christmas market. I want to sell some traditional Christmas foods, but I need some help with the cooking and marketing.”
The four friends looked at each other, nodding in unison. They knew they had to take this opportunity.
“We’re in, Mama Ebun,” Korede said, grinning. “We’ll help you make this Christmas market a success.”
Mama Ebun beamed with joy, handing them each a small package. “Here’s a little something to get you started. Now, let’s get to work!”
As they walked away from Mama Ebun’s shop, the four friends felt a sense of hope they hadn’t felt in a long time. Could this be the start of something special?
