The Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is set to launch its Annual Quiz and Debate Competition for Schools, an event that promises to be a landmark in the educational landscape of the community.
Under the leadership of Hon. Rasaq Ajala, Executive Chairman of the LCDA, this program is designed to bring public and private primary and secondary schools together in a vibrant display of knowledge and rhetorical skill.
Taking place at the Council Hall on Town Planning Way, Ilupeju, the event will span from November 25 to December 4, 2024.
The competition will open with a week of preliminary rounds from November 25 to 29, followed by the grand finale on December 4. Hosted in collaboration with Ilupeju Senior Secondary School, the event promises to foster “a spirit of unity and collective progress among schools and the community at large.”
“This event is designed for public and private primary and secondary schools within the LCDA, offering a unique opportunity for collaboration, learning, and growth,” said Hon. Rasaq Ajala.
His vision for the programme is to unite young people across the LCDA and create an environment where students can share ideas, hone their skills, and celebrate academic achievement.
As the programme kicks off, participants will engage in a series of challenging quizzes and spirited debates, covering a wide array of topics to encourage critical thinking and broaden knowledge.
The competition is set to bring out the best in students and inspire a love for learning that they will carry forward into their futures.
Community members, educators, and families are invited to attend the final day on December 4, where top contestants will showcase their talents and winners will be celebrated for their excellence in knowledge and public speaking.
