The Lagos State Government has warned that driving tipper trucks filled with wet sand on the road is highly illegal, adding that transgressors will be apprehended.
The Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Ekundayo Alebiosu, in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, said dredged sand should be allowed to dry before being hauled.
While reiterating the need for strict adherence to road safety and infrastructure preservation laws, Alebiosu said load in the tipper must not exceed legal weight limits.
He also emphasised that complying with the regulations is vital to safeguarding road infrastructure and ensuring safer transportation across Lagos.
“By following these guidelines, we not only preserve our roads but also create safer conditions for all road users,” the commissioner said.
