The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Unilorin Branch, has issued a vital notice to all Muslim students at the University of Ilorin.
The society seeks to clarify that certain groups, notorious for promoting extreme religious views and fanaticism, do not embody the beliefs or values upheld by MSSN.
The MSSN emphasizes the importance of caution, urging all Muslim students to “exercise caution and thoroughly investigate” before associating with any religious group or platform, both on and off campus.
This advisory comes in light of concerns regarding the potential influence of extremist ideologies among students.
In their statement, MSSN highlights the necessity for students to “stay informed, prioritize your safety, and ensure that any group you join aligns with the principles of balanced Islamic teachings.”

MSSN makes it clear that these groups, characterized by their extreme religious bigotry and fanaticism, “do not in any way represent the religious views and orientation of the MSSN University of Ilorin.” .
The society reiterates the importance of vigilance, urging all Muslim students to “be extra careful and scrutinize properly” before joining any religious organizations within or beyond the university environment.
