In a strategic move to bolster governance and streamline operations within the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Lagos State Chapter, Chairman Engr Adigun Ibrahim has assigned a new set of portfolios for the council’s 17 Directorates.
This initiative is designed to harness the strengths of its members and ensure the council’s activities run smoothly and effectively.
Following their inauguration on August 26, Directorate members underwent a thorough evaluation of their past commitments and capabilities.
This rigorous process was essential in ensuring that each portfolio was assigned to individuals best suited to fulfill the roles required. The emphasis was on matching skills with responsibilities, thereby enhancing the council’s overall governance.
The allocation of portfolios was not just a formality; it marked a significant step in reinforcing accountability and clarity of duties within the council.
Barr. Adeleke S. Aroyewun, the council Legal Adviser, played a pivotal role in this transition.
He meticulously guided the members through the newly approved Directorate guidelines, ensuring they understood the scope and expectations of their assignments.
The process culminated in the administration of the oath of office, symbolizing their commitment to their new roles.
Engr. Adigun Ibrahim stressed the importance of efficient duty discharge, as highlighted in the directorates guideline handbook provided to each member.
He emphasized that “effective governance is not only about assigning roles but ensuring that these roles contribute to the council’s mission and vision.
“This strategic reassignment is expected to enhance the council’s effectiveness in addressing youth-related issues and implementing impactful initiatives across Lagos State.”
