The establishment of the IBILE Entrepreneur University in Ikorodu, Lagos State has been initiated.
The initiative, spearheaded by Babajimi Benson of Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Rep. Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul, PhD, representing Ajeromi/Ifelodun, aims to create a robust academic institution that will empower the youth and stimulate local economic growth.
The hearing saw the presence of three distinguished delegates who presented their case with clarity and conviction.
Dr. Olumide Metilelu, the former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), contributed valuable insights into the academic framework and potential impact of the university.
Barr. SOK Shillings, the former Chairman of the Ikorodu Chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association, emphasized the legal and regulatory advantages the university would provide to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Additionally, Dr. Ganiu Agbaje, representing the Ikorodu Development and Resource Development Group (IDRDG), outlined the socio-economic benefits the institution would bring to the local community.
The delegates’ well-researched presentations were met with enthusiasm from the House Committee on University Education, paving the way for further legislative action.
