Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has received royal blessings on Saturday, October 26, 2024, as he prepares for the upcoming gubernatorial elections scheduled for November 16.
The blessings were conferred during a courtesy visit from His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ọjájá II, CFR, Ooni of Ife, at the Government House in Alagbaka.
During the visit, the revered Yoruba monarch offered heartfelt prayers for the governor’s success, emphasizing the importance of divine support in leadership.
In a gesture rich with cultural significance, the Ooni presented Governor Aiyedatiwa with a statue of Obalufon Ogbogbodirin Alayemore, an ancient Yoruba king known for his enduring legacy over centuries. The Ooni expressed his hopes for the governor, stating, “I wish you good health, longevity, and the divine wisdom to lead Ondo State to new heights.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa, visibly moved by the royal visit, expressed his gratitude, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
“This is the Ooni’s first visit since I assumed office in December 2023, and it holds great meaning for me and my administration,” he remarked.
The event was attended by key members of the Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization, including the Director-General, Hon. Abiola Makinde; Chairman of SUBEB, Hon. Victor Olabintan; and former State House of Assembly member, Hon. Sunday Olajide, among others.
Their presence underscored the unity and commitment of the campaign team as they rally behind the governor in the lead-up to the elections.
