Senator Shehu Sani, a prominent Nigerian human rights activist, has vehemently condemned the brutal killing of three SuperSportTV crew members who were on assignment in Uyo, South South Nigeria, for the upcoming AfCON 2025.
Describing the incident as a “national tragedy,” Senator Sani expressed deep sorrow over the loss of what he termed the “precious lives of a dedicated and passionate sports crew.”
The heinous act, attributed to the notorious Anambra bandits, has shaken the nation and cast a shadow over the preparations for the African Cup of Nations. Senator Sani emphasized the urgency of a united response, stating, “All hands must be on deck by our security forces to bring these criminals to justice.”
In his heartfelt message, the senator extended his condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Super Sports team, urging the Sports Minister, Owan Enoh, to ensure that the legacy of the deceased is honoured.
“I call on the Sports Minister Owan Enoh to immortalise the deceased. May their souls rest in peace,” he added.
