In a heartfelt address on Sunday, September 29th, the Chief Missioner, Nasrul-lah-il-Fatih Society, NASFAT, Imam Abdul-Azeez Onike, highlighted the critical need for parents to prioritize bonding with their children amidst the challenges of modern society.
His message resonated with many, emphasizing that intentional parenting can pave the way for stronger family connections.
Imam Onike-Azeez emphasised the importance of spending quality family time, stating, “Family time, WhatsApp group chat, lectures after family prayers, and watching TV together as a family creates more love and bond.”
These simple yet impactful activities can foster a nurturing environment that strengthens familial ties.
He also reminded parents that raising children in today’s world requires divine assistance.
“Raising children requires the help of Allah,” he said, urging families to seek spiritual guidance to navigate the complexities of moral decadence and peer pressure.
In his call to action, Imam Onike-Azeez encouraged parents to recite the Qur’an verse Surah Al-Furqan, Verse 74, which reads:
“رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا” قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
“O our Lord! grant us in our wives and our offspring the joy of our eyes, and make us guides to those who guard (against evil).”
He affirmed that even if a child is straying from the right path, the power of this prayer can lead to positive transformation.
