Hon Rasaq Ajala (HRA), Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has been awarded the Evergreen Education Award.
This accolade was bestowed upon him by Lagos State Education District 6 during its annual 2024 Merit Awards Day, an event dedicated to celebrating Teachers’ Day and the tireless efforts of educators across the globe.
The Evergreen Education Award is a significant recognition, bestowed upon individuals, organizations, and public office holders who have shown exceptional dedication to advancing education in the district over the years.
This award serves both as a testament to the recipient’s past achievements and as an encouragement for future endeavours in the educational sector.
At the ceremony, Hon. Rasaq Ajala expressed his gratitude and reflected on the collective effort behind his achievements.
In his speech, he stated, “I dedicate this award to all teachers who are working day and night to mould our children, including my humble self, to achieve our full potential.”
He highlighted the indispensable role teachers play in shaping the future.
Further extending his gratitude, HRA acknowledged the support from his constituents saying, “I also dedicate the award to my people at Odiolowo Ojuwoye LCDA. They gave me the mandate I am exercising as the chairman.”
His commitment to ongoing improvement was clear as he added, “To me, the reward of hard work is more work. We still have more to do. Rest assured that we will continue to do our best to reposition this LCDA.”
Hon. Rasaq Ajala did not forget to appreciate the collaborative efforts of the education district’s leadership and the state government.
He thanked the education district six, tutor general, the permanent secretary, and particularly, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“I appreciate our amiable governor who works day and night to ensure Lagos remains a constant star not only in Nigeria but also globally,” he remarked. He emphasized the governor’s significant contributions to maintaining Lagos’ educational standards on an international stage.
