The Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Ajala (HRA) has assured political and community leaders that “Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Cares” initiative will take care of the future and support over 3000 vulnerable people.

The council boss gave the assurance at the stakeholders meeting held the AS Badeh Event Centre within the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Center in Oshodi.

The chairman proudly introduced the “Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Cares” social intervention programme, which aims to support 3,000 vulnerable individuals, including the disabled, widows, and widowers. He urged the gathering to unit for social transformation.

While expressing his commitment to inclusive governance, he declared, “Everyone should have a sense of belonging and benefits from government projects.”

During the event, the Oba of Odi-Olowo, HRM Oba Sikirulahi, made a powerful contribution, “Community residents must take charge and be socially responsible, rather than relying solely on the government.”

The traditional ruler emphasized the importance of local empowerment.

Retired deputy director Mobolaji Faniyi shared insights on the recent leadership training, stating, “We are empowering the community to contribute to their livelihood without solely depending on the government.”

He emphasized the vital role of Community Development Associations (CDAs) and Community Development Committees (CDCs) in bridging the gap between local government and the people.

Also speaking, Senator Ganiyu Solomon commended Hon Rasaq Ajala. He emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts.

He stated, “If everyone works assiduously together, positive outcomes will be achieved.”

He further elaborated on the relationship between the local government and its constituents, saying, “The residents of the local government area will express their perspectives on what constitutes good governance, while the government will provide insights into their performance. Both parties—the government and the governed—will articulate the essentials of effective governance.”

Senator Solomon also highlighted the government’s responsibility to devise comprehensive and adequate plans to meet these expectations.

Hon Adeyemi Alli, the member representing Mushin Constituency 1 in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, expressed his gratitude to several key figures and organizations for their support of a community programme initiated by Hon. Ajala.

He specifically acknowledged Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Hon. Nureini Ayinde Akinsanya—representative of Mushin Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly—as well as members of the Executive, Legislative Arm, and Management Staff for their contributions to the success of the programme.

Hon. Alli commended Hon Ajala for his dedication to continuing the initiative that he first launched several years ago.

He emphasized the significance of the programme and urged potential beneficiaries to utilize the resources provided judiciously.

He also highlighted the importance of caring for widows and the elderly within the community, recognizing them as some of the most vulnerable members of society.

In his remarks, Hon. Nureini Ayinde Akinsanya expressed his appreciation for the support from the Executive and Legislative Arms of government, along with the Management of the Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

He encouraged community members to take ownership of the programme, emphasizing that it should not be viewed merely as a government initiative.

Hon. Akinsanya hammered on the crucial role of health in people’s lives, stating, “Health is wealth.”

Hon. Ismail Babatunde Kazeem TUNKAZ, the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, also expressed his gratitude to Hon. Ajala and his team for organizing the programme.

He acknowledged that the educational components and lectures delivered during the event would significantly benefit the community.
He also praised Hon. Adeyemi Alli for initiating the program and thanked Hon. Ajala for ensuring its continuation.

Hon TUNKAZ conveyed hope that future administrations within the LCDA would maintain the program, thereby providing ongoing support for widows and elderly individuals in the community.

This event showcased the collaborative spirit of community leaders and government officials, all dedicated to fostering social responsibility and inclusive governance.
