The Lagos State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has commended the brains behind the production of a film titled “Ignorance” (ÀÌmọ̀kan).
The council gave the commendation at the film premiere on Saturday September 14, 2024.
The event, held at Magnificent Cinema in Onipanu, was attended by Tijani, Lukman Oluwadamilare, the Chief of Staff to the NYCN Lagos State Chairman
According to Oluwadamilare, NYCN presence is a significant show of support for youth-driven initiatives in the entertainment industry.
“The cinematic quality of “Ignorance” the vibrancy and potential of young creatives in Nigeria, offering them a platform to express their artistic capabilities,” Adigun said.
He added, “The NYCN endorsement of this project highlights the council’s commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.”
He also stated that the youth can learn from the film and see it as a beacon to their lives.
He, therefore, applauded the production company, stating, “Kudos to Luminous Creative Art Production for accommodating young individuals in showcasing their talents in the movie industry.”
The film “Ignorance,” a project with 90% of its cast and crew comprising young talent, marks the debut production of Jumoke Agboolaa, a passionate and emerging force in the entertainment sector.
The narrative of “IGNORANCE” centers on a young woman who, despite her academic brilliance, neglects the opportunity to acquire a trade skill while awaiting her examination results.
Her journey, marred by lust and youthful exuberance, leads to a loss of focus, illustrating the profound consequences of ignorance.
