The National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) has kicked off a sensitization campaign across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
This initiative is designed to strengthen public understanding and exposure to the multifaceted roles of lottery proceeds in societal development.
Opening the event, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, the Executive Secretary of NLTF, proudly announced the successful completion of several intervention projects nationwide.
These projects are funded by a portion of the betting proceeds remitted to the government.
“These proceeds are used for GOOD CAUSES across the country,” Adeyanju emphasized, underscoring the vital role these funds play in community development.
However, he issued a word of caution to Nigerians, urging them not to be swayed solely by the allure of gaming benefits. Instead, he called for responsible participation in the lottery business.
“NLTF will continue to utilize the remittances to implement GOOD CAUSES that will support the downtrodden,” Adeyanju assured, highlighting the organization’s commitment to uplifting underprivileged communities.
This sensitization event marks the launch of a nationwide campaign aimed at promoting responsible gaming practices.
The initiative seeks to raise awareness about the positive impacts of lottery proceeds on Nigerian communities, ensuring that the benefits are maximized for GOOD CAUSES while mitigating potential negative effects.
Arowolo Solomon Alaba, Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary (Media & Corporate Communications), noted that NLTF’s concerted efforts are geared towards ensuring that Nigerians can actively contribute to the improvement of their communities through responsible gaming.
This campaign promises to not only enhance the public perception of lotteries but also to reinforce the idea that gaming, when conducted responsibly, can be a force for societal good.
