The Ojota-Ogudu Branch of the faith-based, pace-setting society, Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NASFAT under Lagos Zone 1 has trained more than 40 Participants in the maiden skill acquisition and economic empowerment programme organised on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Ojota Central Mosque, Kazeem Street Off Ogudu Road, Ojota, Lagos the venue of the Asalatu.

The programme is in line with the policy agenda of the national body, NEC led by the President, Alhaji Ayodeji tagged LEAD (Livelihood, Empowerment, Agent of changesvvs and Da’wah).

The Branch Chairman, Alhaji Yekini Olawale in his keynote address at the event, urged the participants not to just learn the training and pocket it, they should rather ensure they utilize it for their well-being and extend the benefits to their immediate environment as well.

He added that, the Branch made the decision to organise the skill acquisition and economic empowerment programme in order to ease the economic/financial hardships that are being faced in the country by empowering their members during with these skills which can help to cushion the effect of the hardships by providing them with this training to make them keep body and soul together as well as thier well-being.

Earlier in her message, the Branch Economic Empowerment Secretary, BEES, Hajia Odunsi Azeezat expressed her confidence that all the participants at the training shall benefit a lot in the programme while encouraged them to feel free to ask questions in the course of the training for them to understand what they’re being taught better.

The Facilitator, Hajia Lawal Rukayat A., an entrepreneur and the CEO LAARS CHEMICAL COMPANY thoroughly with practicals trained the participants in the production of Insecticide, Hand-Wash and Liquid Soap productions and also shed light on financial intelligence mechanisms of handling their businesses to enhance their entrepreneurial skills.

Other stakeholders at occasion were the the Branch Chairman Alhaji Olawale Yekini, Vice Chairman Alhaji Lawal, Branch Women Affairs Secretary, Alhaja Seriki and the Branch Prs Hajj Oyewoga Hassan Babatunde the immediate past Chairman of the Branch, Alhaji Olupo Babatunde, former Branch Women Affairs Secretary, Alhaja Abajo among others.

Some of the participants expressed their gratitude to the Branch for organising such a beneficial programme for them, they however, appealed to the Branch Economic Empowerment Secretary and the Branch Executives to please bring more of such empowering programmes and training, for it has really impacted on them positively and they promised to make judiciously use of the knowledge acquired.

Hajia Odunsi thanked NASFAT as a body for the LEAD policy thrust, appreciated the Zonal Economic Empowerment Secretary, Alhaja Fagbemi S.A and the Branch Executive Council for their support before, during and after the training.
