Maxwell Munachimso Anyanwu, a 15-year-old Nigerian, has won the top prize in the Technology Business Pitch Competition at the Africa Kidpreneur Summit, held in Gaborone, Botswana.
This was disclosed by the Founder of Kidpreneur Africa and convener of the summit, Juliet Obi, on Tuesday August 27, 2024.
According to Obi, Maxwell, a tech prodigy from Early Spring College, Lagos, has been deeply entrenched in the realm of artificial intelligence and technology since a very young age.
“His repertoire is vast; he is an IT consultant specializing in AI, a coding instructor, a content creator, an animator, a UI/UX designer, a full-stack developer, a game developer, and a solutions architect. Remarkably, he earned his first salary as a coder at just ten years old,” Obi said.
While expressing his enthusiasm about his win, Maxwell stated, “I am over the moon to win this business pitching competition”
He added, “As a Teen techpreneur, it feels incredible to see my ideas and hard work recognized. This win motivates me to keep pushing boundaries and dreaming big for the future.”
Maxwell also extended his gratitude to Kidpreneur Africa, acknowledging their role in his journey. “Special thanks to Kidpreneur Africa for molding me to be what I am today,” he added.
Maxwell’s Profile and Outstanding Achievements
A passionate advocate for STEM education, Maxwell teaches coding to children and teens both virtually and onsite.
He authored “Kids Can Code,” a handbook designed to help young learners and preteens embark on their coding journey. His commitment to advancing STEM education is unwavering, as he continues to learn and build AI models using Python and JavaScript, and explore machine learning with EduBlocks.
Maxwell’s influence extends beyond the tech world. He has twice represented the Netherlands and Eritrea at the United Nations Virtual Conference, advocating against child marriage and teen pregnancy. His appearances on platforms like Silverbird Television’s Amazing Kids Show and the Pioneer STEM Show on TVC Channel 418, along with features on giftedkids.com and membership in the Young Designers Thinkers Squad, highlight his wide-reaching impact.
Recognition for his work is plentiful. He was named Kidpreneur Ambassador of the Year by Kidpreneur Africa, and he received the Kidpreneur of the Year award from StarKids in 2021.
In 2022, STEAM FUNFEST recognized him for his outstanding achievements in STEAM. His influence was further acknowledged when he received an award at the Africa Kidpreneur Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, for his significant contributions and dedication as a young entrepreneur in Nigeria.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Maxwell enjoys playing football, dancing, and building AI models and games. At the summit, where he also served as a panelist on the second day.
