Nigerian filmmaker and producer Seun Egbegbe has expressed his gratitude to the ex-chairman of the Lagos State National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, for his invaluable support following his release from prison.

In an interview with actress Biola Adebayo on the ‘Talk to B’ podcast, Egbegbe reflected on his time in correctional facilities and acknowledged the key figures who stood by him, particularly highlighting Oluomo’s contributions.
He also thanked several Fuji musicians, including Sule Alao Malaika and Saheed Osupa, for their support.
“I want to specifically appreciate MC Oluomo because he supported me during my time in prison. After my release, I visited him, and to my surprise, he promised me a position. Within two months, he fulfilled that promise,” Egbegbe shared. “I am now the chairman of Iso Ijebu Park in Oshodi, and this position is helping me financially.”
Egbegbe provided context about his ordeal, revealing he spent over six years in prison due to his inability to meet the bail bond set by the court.
“I was arrested for attempted fraud on February 2, 2017, and appeared in court on February 10, 2017. However, repeated adjournments delayed my case for six long years,” he explained.
He recounted that on October 11, 2022, the judge delivered a verdict that struck out 44 of the 45 charges against him.
“That day, I was sentenced to seven years in prison, but because the sentences ran concurrently, I was discharged on the same day. The judge also ordered that all the money found on me at the time of my arrested be returned,” he concluded.
