President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman as the Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
This decision is aimed at to ensuring a seamless pilgrimage experience for Nigerian Muslims.
Professor Usman, a distinguished academic, boasts impressive credentials from two prestigious Islamic institutions — the University of Madinah and Peshawar University in Pakistan. His deep-rooted expertise in Hajj operations is further evidenced by his previous role as Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Board, where he successfully oversaw the operations for the largest quota of state pilgrims in Nigeria.
The appointment, which is pending confirmation by the Senate, is seen as a vital step towards fostering integrity and transparency within the commission.
President Tinubu has expressed confidence in Professor Usman’s ability to lead NAHCON with the utmost dedication and fidelity to the nation’s religious obligations.
