Billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, father of renowned music star Davido, has donated N1 billion to the Centenary Endowment Fund of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church.
This significant contribution was made in honour of his late mother, Madam Esther Adeleke, during a heartfelt thanksgiving service held at the church’s headquarters in Lagos on Sunday.
Addressing a gathering of dignitaries and church members, Adeleke expressed the family’s commitment to philanthropy, stating, “On behalf of our late mother, senior mother in Israel, late Mrs. Esther Adeleke, we want to contribute to the endowment fund, Centenary Endowment Fund. We are contributing the sum of N1 billion.”
The event, which attracted notable figures including Governor Dapo Abiodun, was marked by a spirit of gratitude and reverence. Governor Abiodun commended the Adeleke family for their altruism, highlighting the importance of such contributions to the community.
Davido, along with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also graced the occasion, showcasing the family’s strong ties to both music and philanthropy.
Deputy Baba Aladura Harold Demuren praised the Adeleke family for their unwavering commitment to serving humanity. “The Adeleke family and their members are rare gems. They serve the lord and humanity in humility and consistency,” remarked Demuren, who is also an aeronautical engineer and the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The Cherubim and Seraphim Church, founded by Pa Moses Orimolade Tunolase, is on the brink of a monumental milestone, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025.
