The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has quenched the fire outbreak at Trade Fair.
According to a report, the agency sprang into action following distress calls reporting a significant fire outbreak at the Local Government office in Abule-oshun, Trade Fair.
The agency promptly activated its Dolphin Response Team stationed at Igando Base to respond to the emergency.
Upon arrival at the scene, responders were met with a fierce blaze consuming the LG office.
The fire had rapidly spread throughout the entire warehouse, which housed six assembly lines and a variety of equipment, including small forklifts and household goods such as televisions, refrigerators, and air conditioners. The estimated loss from the inferno is believed to be worth hundreds of billions of naira.
In a coordinated effort to combat the fire, LASEMA worked alongside several agencies, including the LASEMA Elife Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Federal Fire Service, NEMA, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, and Lagos State Ambulance Services (LASAMBUS). Their collective aim was to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings and facilities.
As of the latest updates, the immediate cause of the fire remains unknown, and while recovery operations are ongoing, there have been no reported casualties, fatalities, or injuries resulting from the incident. Emergency responders continue to battle the flames and assess the situation, striving to restore safety to the affected area.
